Throughout the year, the Kansas City Automotive Museum, located in Olathe, Kansas, features a selected marque for display in addition to their outstanding permanent inventory of historical, classic and modern vehicles. February was designated as Porsche month and the Kansas City Region of the PCA was happy to donate some cars.
If you have not been, the Kansas City Automotive Museum is a rather big facility, featuring a large number and variety of cars. However, the display room for the featured brand of the month can get crowded. With the vehicle total count limited by space, the selection committee had a difficult time choosing which of the club members’ exceptional cars would be displayed. After all, the KCRPCA has almost every version of vehicle Porsche makes. I am glad to say the selection committee did a great job. We have a wide variety of cars featuring new, old, and a few you have probably never seen before.
In celebration of Porsche Month at the KCAM, a reception was hosted for KCRPCA members at the facility on the evening of February 12. This gave club members the opportunity to gather informally and tour the Porsche display as well as the other vehicles and exhibits.
Coffee and cake were served up by Cindy & Fred Quintana. It was a welcome addition to the soirée, as the weather was typical February: cold! An estimated 40+ KCRPCA members braved the chilled night air for this private display of museum quality Porsche finery.
The Kansas City Automotive Museum is in a growth mode and plans to eventually build and move to a state-of-the-art facility in Kansas City, Missouri. For more information please visit: https://www.kansascityautomuseum.com/
Sorry if you missed the KCRPCA soirée; it was a good time. But I will tell you what not to miss, the Porsche in the Museum exhibit. Go see it before it’s gone.
